In our flagship discipline, too, a revision follows a standard procedure that is based on 50 years of experience in transmission technology. After removing and dismantling the gearbox, you will work with us to determine where the path and the gearbox will take you. A thorough cleaning of all components removes deposits and residues before the diagnosis provides information about necessary work.
After replacing wearing parts and a possible update of the control system (in modern transmissions), the unit is finally reassembled and put through its paces before you can enjoy unrestricted driving fun again.
Compared to an automatic transmission, overhauling a manual transmission is often less complex. Nevertheless, the process here also follows a tried and tested structure, which begins with the removal, disassembly and cleaning of the transmission.
After consultation with the customer, wearing parts are replaced and, if necessary, other components are repaired. The housing is checked in detail for possible cracks or similar damage before our experienced technicians reassemble it and bring it to the test bench.
Defective bearings are a common reason for differential repairs. In this case a partial revision is usually sufficient. If the appropriate gearbox is available, we will also carry out a complete overhaul if necessary.
If there is a loss of oil in the differential, we repair it quickly which is easy on the replacing seals, for example.
The transfer case is located behind the main gearbox and distributes the drive power to the front and rear axles. It is often smaller than the main gearbox and is removed separately.
Here too, all components are cleaned in the cleaning bath. Gears, shafts, bearings, seals and, in the case of chain drives, the chain are removed and checked.
Our team has the appropriate testing tools for almost all gearboxes. When used professionally, these provide information about upcoming revision work. We often replace bearings, seals and, in electronic systems, the sensors.
Before reassembly, the gearbox receives new operating fluids and seals before the obligatory functional test is carried out.
